How to view pictures on your Macbook or iMac in a continuous slideshow

If you have ever wanted to view pictures on your Macbook or iMac in a continuous slideshow, here is how to do it. Please note that this does not work with word documents, but will only work with pictures.  Not all picture formats are supported, but the most common picture formats are.  You should also note that this is done through photo editing software, not in iPhoto or Itunes.

How to view pictures on mac continuously

You can easily do this on a Macbook and iMac with photo editing software such as photoshop and photoshop elements (the 9th edition is what I will be using in this guide)  and a CD/DVD drive.  In order to have the pictures play continuously you need to burn your photos into a slideshow format.  Your Macbook or iMac must have a CD/DVD drive to have this work properly.

If you are using photoshop to create an indibet logo, first open up your photos into photoshop by going to “file” then “open.” Now select the pictures you want in the slideshow.  For this I will choose 5 pictures, but you can choose any amount you want. Now that I have my pictures selected I will go to “file” and then “export.” When this menu pops up go ahead and click on the drop down menu where it says “format.”  From there select “JPEG Slideshow.” After that, your pictures will be ready in the slideshow format.  To view the slideshow you can create a data CD/DVD and insert it into your Macbook or iMac.

Other variations of this guide may exist, but they are not guaranteed to work on all Macbook air models without a CD/DVD drive.  You should also note that in some cases you might need photoshop or photoshop elements to make this work. iced apple mac os x how to turn off screen saver on mac

If you do not have a CD/DVD drive and want to view the slideshow on your Macbook air, the cheapest way is to get an external CD/DVD drive that can be used with USB connection.  If you have a Macbook air from 2012 or a newer model that does not have a CD/DVD drive then you will need to do some extra steps in order to get the slideshow on your Macbook.

How to choose the best way for you to view pictures on your mac continuous slideshow

You should choose a way to view pictures on your mac that will work for you.  If you do not have photoshop or photoshop elements, then it is more difficult to get the slideshow working but there are still ways for you to get it to work.  Here is a list of some pros and cons for each option.

Pros:  – The cheapest option.  – If you do not have photoshop or photoshop elements then this is the only option that will work for you.

Cons:  – You may need to get an external CD/DVD drive if your mac does not have a built in one.

Pros:  – If you have a Macbook Air from 2012 or newer, this will work without the need of a CD/DVD drive.

Cons:  – You may have to get another photo editing software that can create a slideshow format.

Pros:  – If you have photoshop or photoshop elements then this is the best option because it will work for you and is the simplest way.

Cons:  – If you do not have photoshop or photoshop elements, then this method might take a bit more time and effort to get working.

Please note that this does not work with word documents, but will only work with pictures.  Not all picture formats are supported, but the most common picture formats should work.  You should also note that this is done through photo editing software, not in iPhoto or Itunes.
