What is iTunes and what does it do

iTunes is a media player, media library, online radio broadcaster, and mobile device management application developed by Apple Inc. It is used to play, download, and organize digital downloads of music and video (as well as other types of media available on the iTunes Store) on personal computers running the macOS and Microsoft Windows operating systems. The application can also be used on mobile devices such as iPhones and iPads, where it serves as the central hub for all content on the device. iTunes is also the principal way to manage the contents of Apple’s popular iPod digital media players.

Checking your song count in iTunes is a simple process that only requires a few steps.

How to find out how many songs you have on itunes

1. Open iTunes and click on “Library” in the left sidebar.

2. In the top middle of the screen, there will be a tab that says “Music”. Click on that.

3. Now, look at the bottom right corner of the iTunes window. There is a number next to “Songs”. This is how many songs are in your iTunes Library.

4. If you want to see a list of all the songs in your iTunes, click on “Song” in the top middle of the screen. A list of every song in your iTunes will appear in the main window.

How to purchase songs on iTunes

1. Open iTunes and click on the “iTunes Store” icon in the left sidebar.

2. Find the song or album that you want to purchase and click on the “Buy” button.

3. Enter your Apple ID and password when prompted and click “OK”.

4. Your purchase will now begin downloading onto your computer. Once it is finished, you can find it in your “Music” library.

How to create a playlist on iTunes

1. Open iTunes and click on “Library” in the left sidebar.

2. In the top middle of the screen, there will be a tab that says “Music”. Click on that.

3. Find the song or album that you want to add to a playlist and click on it to select it.

4. Right-click (or Control-click) on the song and choose “Add to Playlist” from the drop-down menu.

5. A new window will appear with a list of all your existing playlists. Select the playlist you want to add the song to and click “Add”.

6. The song will now be added to that playlist. You can find it in the “Playlists” section of iTunes.
