How to scan documents on Mac

You can use the built-in Camera app on your Mac to scan documents and save them as PDFs. To do this, open the Camera app and place your document in view of the camera. Why you might want to scan documents on your Mac

There are a few reasons why you might want to scan documents on your Mac. For example, you might need to scan a document in order to send it electronically to someone else. Or, you might want to create a digital backup of an important physical document. Whatever the reason, the process for scanning documents on a Mac is fairly straightforward.

What software you can use to scan documents on your Mac

In addition to the built-in Camera app, there are a number of third-party software options that you can use to scan documents on your Mac. For example, Adobe Scan is a free app that turns your mobile device into a powerful PDF scanner. Or, if you’re looking for a more comprehensive solution, Paperless is a paid app that lets you scan, organize, and store all of your paper documents digitally.

How to choose the right scanning settings

When you’re scanning a document on your Mac, you’ll want to make sure that you choose the right scanning settings in order to get the best results. For example, if you’re scanning a document in order to send it electronically, you’ll want to make sure that you’re scanning it at a high enough resolution. On the other hand, if you’re scanning a document for your own records, you might not need such a high resolution. In general, it’s always better to err on the side of choosing a higher resolution setting just to be safe.

Other scanning tips

Here are a few other scanning tips to keep in mind:

– Place your document on a flat surface before scanning it. This will help ensure that the scan is clear and accurate.

– If you’re scanning a large document, you may want to consider breaking it up into smaller sections in order to make it easier to scan.

– If you’re scanning a document that has both sides, make sure to scan each side separately.

– If you’re scanning a document that has text on it, you may want to use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) in order to convert the text into a digital format.
