Zoom Dual Monitors | Setup

If you’re looking to get the best possible experience with your dual monitors, there are a few things that need to be considered.

The zoom dual monitors gallery view is a setup that allows users to see two separate screens on one monitor. This can be used for productivity, gaming, or entertainment purposes.

Dual Monitors Zoom

The way you set up your Zoom monitors may make or break your teaching experience; it has a big effect. Zoom’s dual monitor display functionality allows you to see callers on one monitor while simultaneously seeing the displays you’re sharing on the other.

Although Zoom’s instructions for this procedure is simple, the procedure itself may be difficult. Because certain applications may not work as you expect, you may need to make a few extra adjustments.

For example, while utilizing the two monitor configuration to share PowerPoint presentations on Zoom, we’ve observed a frequent issue. When PowerPoint detects that an additional screen has been installed, it will default to ‘presenter view.’

When utilizing a projector in a live class, this comes in useful since it can recognize the projector as a second screen and enable ‘presenter view’ on your PC. Let’s take a look at the prerequisites for a multi-monitor configuration, how to set up dual displays, and how to resolve the PowerPoint problem.

What Are Dual Zoom Monitors’ Technical Requirements?

You’ll need the following items to set up a Zoom dual-monitor setup:

  1. There are several monitors available.
  2. Zoom desktop software installed on a Windows, Mac, or Linux computer.
  3. A dual-core Intel i5 CPU with a clock speed of 2GHz or greater is required.
  4. A minimum of 4GB of RAM is required on the computer.
  5. Dual-monitor support must be enabled in your PC’s operating system.

The following is the procedure for configuring zoom for dual monitor support:

  1. Begin by opening the Zoom App on your computer.

  1. Exit the ‘Settings’ menu after you’ve checked that item.
  2. When you start a Zoom conference, two windows should appear: one with the video stream and the other with the standard Zoom controls.
  3. To set up the dual monitors, place the audience on one monitor and all of the additional documents you’d want to present on the other.

If you want to share a PowerPoint presentation with two monitors through screen sharing, follow the steps in the PowerPoint setup guide below to learn how to go from single window support to taking over both displays on Zoom.

From here, you may choose the ‘Share Screen’ option and select the app you wish to share. Now the material you’ve shared with your audience will be mirrored on one monitor, and you’ll be able to view the audience on the monitor you’re not sharing.

The second monitor should be the same one that displays all of your other papers. On the second monitor, you may adjust the documents window to fit your requirements. To do so, click and drag any corner at the bottom of your screen to resize it.

How Do You Resolve the PowerPoint Problem?

  1. Then drag and drop your PowerPoint presentation to one of the two displays.

Return to the Zoom App and choose ‘Screen Share’ now that you’ve set up PowerPoint. On either ‘Monitor 1’ or ‘Monitor 2,’ make sure PowerPoint is sharing the whole screen. Select the ‘Optimize Screen Sharing for Video Clip’ and ‘Share Computer Sound’ choices if you want to share a video file.

To Confirm Changes, Restart Zoom.

To obtain a complete picture of the modifications you’ve made, you may need to restart the Zoom App. Keep in mind that just because the Zoom window is closed doesn’t imply the app is completely closed. There are options in the Zoom App that allow it to operate in the background.

As a consequence, you may need to manually shut down the program by clicking to open the ‘Task Manager’ on your PC. You may also restart your computer to verify that the changes are applied.

You receive the video conference screens on one monitor and PowerPoint slides on the other when Zoom is configured for dual monitor usage and PowerPoint is set to only show on one monitor.

Last Thoughts

You’ve successfully changed your Zoom settings to allow the usage of two monitors. This feature allows you to exchange material such as PowerPoint presentations while maintaining the best possible view of your Zoom call participants.
